The PE Literacy Playbook was created with one simple belief: physical education should challenge the mind as much as it challenges the body. This space exists to explore how reading, writing, reflection, and communication can live naturally inside the gym—without taking away from movement, energy, or fun.
At its core, The PE Literacy Playbook is about the intersection of literacy and culture in physical education. When students have opportunities to express what they’re learning—to think, write, and talk about their performance—they don’t just become better movers; they become more self-aware, confident, and engaged learners. That kind of literacy builds stronger class culture and gives every student a voice, no matter their skill level.
Through articles, classroom stories, and implementation tools, The PE Literacy Playbook aims to reimagine what rigor, reflection, and relevance can look like in PE—and to start a larger conversation about where our field is headed next.
Do you have an exciting moment, a classroom success, or a struggle worth unpacking? I’d love to hear about it.
